Melissa Kendall
EVENT COACH
Melissa is a cancer survivor and amputee whose life underwent significant changes last year. Amputee soccer emerged as a crucial catalyst, providing her with the much-needed direction and focus.
Melissa was part of the inaugural US national women’s amputee soccer team and represented the United States in the first internationally sanctioned match against Poland in 2023. The international stage offered an incredible experience, teaching Melissa the profound impact of community and the importance of believing in oneself and one's abilities.

JOVAN BOOKER
EVENT COACH
Jovan Booker is a native of Long Island, New York who received his B.S. from Stony Brook University, M.S. from Hofstra University, and is a former educator of Health and Physical Education K-12 at Peconic Community School. Jovan is the captain of the New York Metro Amputee Soccer Club and is also a national team player for the US Amputee Soccer Team. He has scored multiple goals over 30+ international caps.
Off the pitch, Jovan is a leader in disability sport access, equity, and inclusion with his work with Bionic Project, a non-profit serving to fight against disability bias. He also was the recipient of The Suffolk Times: 2022 Sports Person of the Year award for his exceptional service to the community through sport as both a soccer and basketball coach at both the youth recreational and competitive levels.

Nico Calabria
EVENT COACH
Nico Calabria joined the US Amputee Soccer Team in 2011 and has since captained the team at the 2014, 2018, and 2022 World Cups. In addition, he is also a board member of the American Amputee Soccer Association (AASA) where he works to grow the sport of amputee soccer.
Nico is the founder and director of the New England Amputee Soccer Association, and the lead educator at the Bionic Project, a non-profit dedicated to eliminating disability bias through story, education, and sport.

In 2020 alongside Sirena Amarikwa established the #AmarikwaAcres.com farm while becoming the 1st pro athlete to mint a NFT project, #Frequincy.
When not on the soccer field, Amarikwa invests in furthering his philanthropic, educational and entrepreneurial ventures, serving as CFO Amarikwa Family Foundation, Secretary Limb Care Foundation, Business Development Advisor for One Soccer Nation, Fund Director EvovleNFTs.com and CEO of PerfectSoccerSkills.com

The American Amputee Soccer Association has dual missions. One mission is to promote and develop the sport for the benefit of participants with limb differences. We look to grow the sport for juniors and adults and for women and men. Our unified goal is to help our limb loss patients attain prosthesis embodiment: the consideration of a prosthesis not simply as an assistive device, but instead as a part of the patient's self and identity.
