Grants and Fundraising Campaigns
REQUIREMENTS:
The Limb Care Foundation does its best to support the financial needs of patients across the country. LCF grants are only considered for patients in need of a limb-related DMEPOS device including upper and lower extremity prosthetic and orthotic devices.
If a grant request is outside of our current operating budget, we can setup a fundraising campaign on behalf of the requestee. 100% of the proceeds made for a campaign will go towards meeting that financial goal. We only accept 4 campaigns at one time and we will continue to fundraise for every patient until that goal is met.
Meet Taylor
Location: Cooper Mountain, CO
Clinic: Levitate
Medical Need: Bilateral prosthetic legs
Taylor, a 24-year-old adaptive snowboarder with Adaptive Action Sports in Copper Mountain, CO, began her journey two years ago after receiving below-knee prosthetic legs in March 2020. Despite financial challenges, she lived in a remodeled minivan during her first full winter in Colorado. Taylor's season included notable achievements, such as winning bronze and silver medals at The Hartford Ski Spectacular. She also competed in open races, even becoming the first adaptive snowboarder on a black diamond run at Snowshoe Mountain.
Facing prosthetic leg issues, health concerns, and a van break-in, Taylor's resilience stood out. In the off-season, a car accident caused further setbacks, but she continued training and embraced activities like jiu-jitsu. Taylor collaborated with Levitate, a prosthetic company, helping amputees access running blades. Levitate's mission and the impact of their events on the amputee community became significant aspects of Taylor's journey.
Grateful for unexpected turns, Taylor seeks support to replace her prosthetic feet and running blades. Her story reflects resilience, dedication, and a commitment to inspiring others in the disabled community. Despite challenges, Taylor remains determined to make a positive impact and continue her mission.
Fundraising Goal: $6,000
As an organization, the Limb Care Foundation understands the importance of DME to become more independent.
